Dandelion & Burdock Tea

About the Recipe

Can be fed daily if needed, always start off small to test your dog tolerates it well.

Small dogs (Up to 10kg in weight) 1/2 teaspoon

Medium dogs (Up to 20kg in weight) 1 teaspoon

Large dogs (Up to 40kg in weight) 1-1.5 teaspoons

Giant dogs (Greater than 40kg in weight) 2 teaspoons

Ingredients

  • Dandelion- ensure you know they are from a clean source as many areas of the UK are subjected to chemicals. Harvest the dandelion flower, stem and root. Only take what you need from Mother Nature and let the rest alone.


  • Burdock root - ensure the source of this is reliable if buying or use the root of the burdock plant ensuring you only take what you need and leave the rest alone.


  • Water - filtered water is always ideal however as this process involves boiling the water tap water will be ok to use too.


  • Optional: Put some dandelion flowers or dehydrated Elderberries into the moulds before pouring the tea over for infusion

Preparation

  • Use 5g to 30g dried herb (leaves, root or flowers) - or you can use fresh if you prefer


  • Place in saucepan & cover with water (do not overfill)


  • Put pan on hob and bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer for 10- 15 minutes.


  • Turn off the heat and let sit for 30 minutes.


  • Strain & leave behind the beautiful tea.


  • This can be stored in the fridge for 7 days or frozen.
